Started in 2014, his music is influenced heavily by Hip-Hop, Bass and Electronica and is known for combining up-beat rhythms with ethnic sounds and samples. The MALFNKTION project derives its sound from old Indian film music and audio recordings collected from cities and remote parts of the country. Mixing the sounds of India with Hip-Hop compositions has allowed Aditya's music to appeal to a wide variety of listeners, both within the country and abroad. His debut EP ‘Hindustani Rascal’ was an homage to the golden age of Indian cinema and was released in September 2015. It was featured on Apple Music, Buzzfeed, Reddit and Festival Sherpa. He released his second EP ‘Vote for Worms’ in December 2016. It is a continuation of this concept but introduces minimalism, dance and uptempo rhythms. It was written and composed specifically for his live performances. In the last two years, Aditya has opened for a number of international artists such as UK based Gaudi, Maribou State, Om Unit, Kutmah, California based record label Soulection and Anna Morgan. He also opened for Nucleya at two of his Sub-Cinema shows in Pune and Mumbai. The end of 2017 marked his first performance at NH7, Sunburn and Boiler Room. He was selected as one of four winners of the Bacardi House Party playlist and was shortlisted for the Toto music awards. He worked with Argentinian producer Ramiro Jota on a collaborative single ‘Buenos Aires’. In February 2018, he released a collaborative single ‘Be Free’ with singer songwriter Zoya Mohan on Dublin label Souletiquette. In August 2018, 'Vincent Chase Slippin' was released with his first official music video. Shortly after, he was selected as one of 25 musicians to take part in the renowned One Beat music residency in the US and tour through Orlando, Charleston, Baltimore, Washington DC and New York City. On his return, Aditya continued touring cities in India. He played Basscamp 2018 alongside Ivy Lab and Anna Morgan. This year will present MALFNKTION’s first audio visual live album ‘The Infinity Trail’ composed in the Tibetan region of Arunachal Pradesh and in Meghalaya. He performed the album live at Echoes of Earth and Magnetic Fields festivals in December 2018. He is also scheduled to release singles under the French record label Nowadays Records and Berlin based Get Physical Music early this year. His latest single brings him back on another collaboration with Shayan Roy. Titled ‘Charlie Sheen’, the single will be released along with a music video directed by Bosco on Saavn’s Artist Originals. -------------------------------- About Paper Queen -------------------------------- Mumbai based Hip Hop/Bass artist Paper Queen has been making some serious moves in the last 24 months, playing both National & International club & festival gigs.
