In the 90s he was very active on the world-music scene but went back to electronics at the beginning of the new millenium. In 2003 he started his career as an international DJ and since then has been playing in major cities in Europe and the U.S. at famous clubs such as Ministry of Sound, Fabric and Plastic People in London,Coral Room and Love in NYC, Razmataz, Olympia and BeCool in Barcelona, Sky Bar and Smart Bar in Chicago, Berghain in Berlin, Paradiso in Amsterdam.... just to mention a few. He played at many electronic music festivals such as Movement Festival (Detroit), Exit Festival (Serbia), Insonnia (Tromzo), Geek Picnick Festival (Moscow), Dimension Festival (Croatia), Altavoz (Medellin) Reverso (Milan) Lente Kabinet (Amsterdam) Glitch Festival (Malta) Biennale Musica (Venice), Electro-Mechanica (St. Petersbourg), Dekmantel (Amsterdam)... just to mention a few. His records are released by many labels including: SIRE/WEA, Materiali Sonori, Yellow Production, Creme Organization, Permanent Vacation, Hot Banana, This Is Music, Clone Records. Since 2003, he's been running his own label: Hot Elephant Music https://www.hot-elephant.com He gained a reputation also as a videomaker. Starting of as one of the creative heads of Zenzi (an iconic brand of Mumbai's art & music scene), Kris pushed the boundaries for artistic curation as a career for more than a decade. As a Dj/Selector, Kris has an affinity towards electronic music that's influenced by funk, dub & jazz. 2020 will see his debut as a film director/editor with an indie arthouse documentary '4 Stories & A Funeral' along with the production of the soundtrack to his credits. ------------------ About Himay ------------------ Himay has been performing at multiple venues in Mumbai, and around India since mid-2016. In the short period he has been Djing he has performed alongside renowned artists such as Dauwd, Rebekah, Inga Mauer, Kim Ann Foxman, DJ Stingray, K-Hand and played at festivals such as BUDx Mumbai and FarOut Left. He hosts a monthly radio show on boxout.fm, and party in Mumbai, Disconnect. Over the course of the years, Himay has developed an assorted taste for a variety of genres, and as a listener has imbibed the innovations by avant-gardists such as Pink Floyd, The Beatles and Jon Hopkins among others. Drawing inspiration from the house, disco and techno music from the 1980s and 90s in Detroit, Chicago and New York, as an artist he is perpetually striving to shift the orientation to be music-centric.
