Dancehall 4eva, is a property curated by Reggae Rajahs to celebrate the rich and diverse history of Jamaican dancehall and all the music that has spawned from it since. We kick off at Raasta this Friday with the main man Dj MoCity alongside Stain and Sodhi. Dancehall originated in the 1980's in Jamaica when reggae music went through a process of digitisation. As the music developed into harder hitting electronic beats, the dancing styles and patterns evolved simultaneously. Dancehall has grown immensely through the 90s and 2000s and it's influences can now frequently be spotted in global pop culture. Singers and dancers from across the world are borrowing from this style to put into their own songs and routines.
