The band includes dynamic musicians Gautam David, Jason Sharat, Adesh Vinod, Vishal Varier, Anand Murali, and Joel Rozario. The ensemble is embarking on their first India tour , performing in seven cities: Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi, and Gurugram. Based in Bangalore, India , Derek & The Cats are currently working on their second album, with plans to release several singles starting in July 2024. In February 2024, they made their Mumbai debut at the G5A Foundation for Contemporary Culture. They have also performed to an audience of 2,000 at the Oddball Festival 2023 in Bangalore, sharing the stage with notable acts like The Aristocrats, Blackstratblues, Bloodywood, and Sanjeev T. Additionally, they showcased their talent at Sofar Bangalore , and their performance is available on the Sofar YouTube channel. Derek & The Cats have released two singles, 'Soul' and 'Morocco' , leading up to their debut self-titled album in July 2022, which was acclaimed by Rolling Stone India as one of the Top 15 Indian Albums of 2022 . In January 2023, they released a live EP, ' Live at Fandom ,' featuring two tracks from their debut show: a live version of 'The Heist' and a cover of Snarky Puppy's 'What About Me?'
