After 21 editions in 5 cities across India from June 2018, Dynamite Disco Club is back after a brief precautionary break during the pandemic. The 22ndedition of Dynamite Disco Club will be on the 15th of January 2021 at Indira Nagar Social, Bangalore, the line-up includes artists Stalvart John, Carissa and DataBass on the console.
About Dynamite Disco Club
Dynamite Disco Club is a universe of Disco and House music founded by Stalvart John. It takes a dwells deep in the roots of soul, funk, disco and house and also touches the basics of Chicago house, Detroit funk and Philly soul scene while keeping it fresh with best new ideas. Dynamite Disco Club aims to get into A to Z of Disco and House music culture.
The radio show by the same name hosted by Stalvart John started airing on boxout.fm on the 3rd Thursday of every month from April 2017 and has completed 45 episodes till now.
Stalvart John
Stalvart John found his home in electronic music about a decade back when he discovered artists like Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, and Robert Miles. After taking the plunge into dance music, he found appreciation from audiences across the globe in no time thanks to his radio shows which include Boxout FM (India), Frisky Radio (NY), Afterhours FM (SFO), Tenzi.fm (India), IMRTD Worldwide (NY), Powermix fm Radio (UK) and Radio Schizoid (Mumbai), 1worldtrance among many others.
Stalvart have a monthly radio show at India’s first electronic music community radio boxout.fm called “Dynamite Disco Club”. This show takes listeners to take a closer look at the roots of soul, funk, disco and house. It’s a chance to go back to the basics of Chicago house, Detroit funk and Philly soul scene while keeping it fresh. He also launched his own “Dynamite Disco Club” nights which have become a regular feature in major Indian cities.
Known for his deeper take on dance music and his unconventional attitude, he contributed to the initial uprising of Kerala’s electronic music scene with a series of gigs in Club 1100 Ramada Resort, Ava Lounge Dream Hotel Cochin, Lagoon – Le Meridien, V-Bar Hilton Garden Inn (Trivandrum). In order to pursue his passion, Stalvart had to move out of Kerala when the music scene got abruptly cut short by the prohibition.
After shifting base to Bangalore in early 2015, he started finding a new comfort zone in his Disco and House Music which has earned him showcases at some of the top venues like Humming Tree, High Spirits, Bluefrog, Social Offline, Summer House Cafe.
Today, Stalvart is a regular feature at the country’s best festivals such as Magnetic Fields, Echoes Of Earth, Vh1 Supersonic & Go:Madras.
With way too many ideas to express, the jump from DJ to producer was imminent – with a debut release on one of India’s finest labels “Wind Horse Records”. He then went on to release on German Label “Mind Field Records” on a compilation featuring the likes of like Paul Hartnoll (one half of the legendary Orbital), Norwell amidst other established names. His release on Wind Horse Records got encouragement from Richie Hawtin (Minus), Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn, Miss Nine (Armada), David Marston (Wolf + Lamp) and many more. “Thabo Mbeki” on legendary Alexander Robotnick’s label Hot Elephant music received traction from critics around the globe. His latest EP On Springbok Records got entered Traxsource Weekend Weapons chart, Essential Nu Disco and Hype Chart. It also received support from The Rurals, Joyce Muniz, Jerry Bouthier, DJ Pope, Jon Lemmon,, Vinny Da Vinci, Chris Fortier and many more
Opening for acts like Moodymann, Detroit Swindle, Horse Meat Disco, Bill Brewster, Zero 7, Jayda G, Byron The Aquarius, Sassy J, Kim Ann Foxman, cc: disco! Young Marco, El_Texf_A, Brassica, Isolee, Sally C, and many more, Stalvart has earned the credentials to be on list of top artists from the country.
Carissa
Carissa is a Bangalore based DJ. Training in the keys from the age of nine, she has always had an ear for music. Her progression to DJ-ing came from her unbridled passion for the art. Trained under DJ and producer, Stalvart John her music ranges from disco, house to deep house. She draws inspiration from Natasha Kitty Kat, Kerri Chandler, Folamour, Apparel Wax and Mark Knight to name a few.
Her music has its own distinct groove and creates a cool and spirited sound for the dance floor giving her the opportunity to open for artists such as Maribou State, Eliphino, Sally C, CC:Disco, Stalvart John, Unnayana and Small Town Guy. Carissa also made her festival debut at the first edition of Far Out Left, Bangalore which landed her on the bill with great artists such as Roman Flugel, DVS1, Octave One and Volvox.

DataBass
Sujoy Banerjee, A.K.A DataBass is an Indian DJ based out of Bangalore. He started off by learning the drums and was part of local university bands before turning his focus to electronic music.
His interests in music started off in trance and progressive way back in 2007 where he first started playing at house parties taking inspiration from one of his all-time favorite artists, Above & Beyond. Over the course of time, he has moved on to discover and love disco / house. He has taken inspiration from artists such as C Da Afro, Phonkyman, Todh Teri, Purple Disco Machine, Hot Mood and Kevin Mckay to name a few while crafting his bouncy groovy sets.
Over the past couple of months since he actively started playing, he has played at venues between Goa & Bangalore for a range of events including performances at Baba Au Rhum (Goa), Verandah (Goa), Unscene for Deep Dictionary, Merak (Halloween), Publik, Nevermind etc.
He also has done virtual live streams during lockdown for TheMusicsCool and Stress Buster Sessions.
