Groovepool by Orbs Cure Labs is BACK with a BANG! Bring Holi in with the hottest names in electronic music, all under one roof! The night features electro/disco/funk legend Madboy (of Madboy/Mink), classic house and disco stalwart Himay, future beats and DnB goddess Paper Queen, synth freak Shantam (of FOPCHU), and OCL's own electro genius CudaWuda. The show begins at 8 PM sharp. Limited capacity event. About the artists Madboy: As half of Madboy/Mink, and prior to that, as frontman for The Pulp Society, Imaad Shah’s career to date has spanned film, theatre, and of course, music. His DJ sets are a delicious mix of acid, house, disco with cool, vintage, hidden gems that make for a lush dancefloor experience. As a producer, inspired by elements of the rainforest, space exploration and fantasy, his music is influenced by Disco, House, and Electro Funk with lush soundscapes. Himay: Mumbai-based Himay's sets are heavily influenced by classic records ranging from rock to dance music. He has played extensively across the country and has been billed with artists such as Tama Sumo, DJ Stingray, K-Hand, Kim Ann Foxmann, Dauwd, Lakuti, Rebekah, Asquith, and Inga Mauer to name a few. In 2018, he made his festival debut at Far Out Left, with the likes of DJ Nobu, Mathew Johnson, Danny Daze, African Acid Is the Future among other local and international acts. He also hosts a monthly radio show on boxout.fm. Paper Queen: With a unique blend of Old & Nu Skool Hip Hop, Grime, Future Beats & Bass Music, a signature Paper Queen set has the right selection of music to receive mass appeal yet retain certain street credibility. Taking influences from artists such as Teeko, DJ Premier, Jon1st & Ivy Lab, her musical creations are hard-hitting, bouncy & engineered for the dance floor. Known for shelling out mixes on multiple platforms, Paper Queen has delivered NH7 Weekender (62nd Global Bass Chart) and Boxout Wednesdays (17th Global Grime Chart) for Boxout.fm. Paper Queen’s mixes seep through genres like New and Old School Hip Hop, Grime, Deep Dark, and Dubby Rap. Shantam: This producer from New Delhi is 'mostly human and often melodic, with a peppery burn, and even hypnotic, from simple gestures to lavish strokes', as he describes his sound. His love for synths and all machines that make noise is prevalent in his music. He is also 1/3rd of the New Delhi-based band FOPCHU. CudaWuda: Elektro music producer and DJ CudaWuda believes in nothing more than setting the dance floor on fire. Expect gripping basslines and juicy synths that transform people into aliens. OCL is an artist-led community and platform for outspoken ideas, experimentation, and fearless expression. We are committed to empowering left-field, gender-positive, genre-bending projects, artists, and cultural spaces. House of Chapora is a stunning boutique property near the Chapora Jetty, made up of upcycled and refurbished materials. Driftwood, broken mirrors and other recycled artifacts have been nimbly put together to create a kaleidoscopic visual escape in a picturesque corner of North Goa.
