Jitwam @ Hideaway, Goa Wednesday, 3rd August, 8pm _______________________________ With his roots in Assam, northeast India, the musical nomad, Jitwam has cemented his place in the lineage of great Indian composers, merging global sounds with modern production techniques, creating a unique blend of some of the warmest hip hop, r&b, house, jazz and soul fusion. Jitwam officially released his second album HONEYCOMB on !K7 / Tartelet Records in May 2019 to critical acclaim, listed as Gilles Peterson’s ‘Best of 2019 ‘ on BBC 6Music. Of everywhere and nowhere, Jitwam’s music draws influence from a litany of iconoclasts including, but not limited to RD Burman, Moondog, The Velvet Underground, Yayoi Kusama, Jay Electronica, J Dilla, Moodymann, Leon Thomas, Madlib and Asha Bhosle.
