The band started truly small - a home studio project founded by Uddipan Sarmah & Shubham Gurung(Ex-Guitars), whilst they resided in the small city of Gujarat, Ahmedabad. 2015, saw them come together with Robert Alex & Gautam Deb (Ex-Drums), and led to the launch of AWKS's first full-length release titled 'Khwaab' (meaning Dream). This moment was the start of a change in the Indian independent music circuit. With the music spreading like wildfire owing to its fresh and emotive approach, the band redefined the touring culture in India; taking their music to a multitude of cities locally and also embarking on their first ever overseas 5 city Russian Tour. Submarine in Space ubmarine In Space is an instrumental Jazz Rock band, from New Delhi, India. The band has been featured on Rolling Stones as the top performers at Magnetic Fields Festival in 2018 and has played alongside the Australian sensation Plini and the Indian Rockers Thermal and a Quarter. They were also adjudged as the winners of Mahindra Blues Band Hunt In Delhi by Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa. The music is dynamic and cinematic which makes it a gripping experience for the audience. Their debut album Wavelengths received a lot of critical appreciation around the globe and was ranked as one of the top releases in 2018 by Rockstreet Journal and Rolling Stones.
