Line-up:
GUTSLIT (Extreme Metal, Mumbai)
Gutslit is a critically acclaimed extreme metal band reigning from Mumbai, India. The quartet display cut-throat musical precision and blistering speeds meshed with their intense song writing. GUTSLIT has adapted various styles of death metal and grind core into their own brutal array of grinding riffs, pummelling blasts, vicious bass grooves and chilling gutturals. Thus, making GUTSLIT the finest and filthiest extreme band to hail from India.
Following up GUTSLIT's 2017 album Amputheatre, comes a brand new album titled Terroreign. The album is out Independently in the Summer of 23. The Album has 8 crushing tracks and an evolution in sound from previous releases. The album is mixed and mastered by the legendary Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel), along with artwork by Kidsquidy. The album features the return of Aditya Barve (Skewered in the Sewer) on vocals and is produced by Prateek Rajagopal (The book of Boba Fett, Creed 3)
DIRGE (Doom / Sludge / Post-Metal, Mumbai)
(Album Launch gig)
DIRGE is a five-piece doom/sludge/post-metal band from Mumbai, India. Post the release of their debut album ‘Ah Puch’ in 2018 and receiving positive response and praise across the globe for their unique blend of doom, sludge & atmospheric metal, the band immediately started working on a successor with new drummer Aryaman Chatterji. Using their time post-pandemic to write and record a follow-up to “Ah Puch,” the band’s forthcoming self-titled album scheduled for release in March 2023 – this album finds the quintet taking a sonic journey of discovery. Offering up a truly devastating and personal statement, particularly when compared to the wide-sweeping vistas of Mayan myths and South American jungles of their debut, DIRGE looks inward while simultaneously reflecting our world at large. The band’s new self-titled album ‘Dirge’ will is a 43-minute long album consisting of 4 tracks. Sonically it's a unique blend of doom, sludge, post-metal, psychedelic rock, contemporary doom, and the likes, which the band believes makes for their best effort yet.
DIRGE’s new self-titled album was released on 10th March worldwide & this will be the band’s fourth gig off the ‘Rings of Crises’ Album launch tour across the country.
THE EARTH BELOW (Rock, Mumbai)
Originally established in 2010 as a creative outlet for multi-instrumentalist, Deepak Raghu – best known locally as serial drummer for the likes of Shepherd and Bevar Sea – The Earth Below is perhaps one of Mumbai’s most captivating solo projects. Grown from the seed of an idea found in ‘Vapour’, a song written and recorded by Raghu during his time spent as one-half of experimental outfit, Rat King, The Earth Below has since become all consuming; absorbing his time and imagination, and in doing so, has accommodated his most radical and brilliant ideas.
From his debut EP Aleph and resulting album, Window Lights for Wanderers, to 2018’s beautifully psychedelic yet strangely transmissionary, Dreams of A Thousand Stillness, Raghu has traversed a cornucopia of musical styles and movements over the past decade, treating listeners to shades and sounds akin to CSNY, Slint, Leonard Cohen and Chris Bell.
With Nothing Works Vol 2: Hymns for Useless Gods, Raghu explores jazz, psychedelic rock and the heavier side of a six string to pitch a weightier, more complex sound.
In 2023, The Earth Below returns as a power trio with Ashish Dharkar (Dirge, Pacifist) on guitars and Shreyansh Kejriwal on drums, channeling it’s myriad of influences into a heavy wall of sound psychedelic experience rooted in sludge, stoner rock and doom metal.
This will be the debut live performance of The Earth Below in the city of Mumbai, something you wouldn’t want to miss at all.
