About 'The Yellow Diary'
Formed in 2015, The Yellow Diary, is a musical collective based out of Mumbai. The band is touted to be bringing rock music back in India through a fresh sonic identity that blends thought-provoking poetry with a unique, modern soundscape. Charged with powerful songwriting, their music is an ode to the experiences we go through in this mysterious, unpredictable roller coaster called life. The Yellow Diary refuses to be bound by pre-conceived notions of genre, incorporating a vast spectrum of musical influences into their compositions.
The band is currently signed with Sony Music India, and have charted several releases with the record label, garnering millions of streams across platforms. With a string of releases lined up for the coming year, the band is all set to take the country by storm.
SHOR is an electro-pop project that is aimed to be an audio-visual experience in both the live set as well as through online releases. All the songs from the debut EP 'Khoye Se' are
accompanied by a visual experience. Through lyrics and instrumentation in the project, Shor has captured and expressed a surreal version of his thoughts from a specific time in his life which are also reflected in the music videos.
We have given the visual aspect of SHOR as much focus as the music to have the listener experience the world we have tried to create through these songs and videos. All the music videos have been directed and edited by Sanjna Krishnan. Sanjna and I decided to conceptualise ideas for a visual experience that not only showcases the feeling of a particular song but the videos are also linked to each other in a way that ties the project together. With the first song 'Tera' coming out at the beginning of this month, we have looked to release one song every month until the whole EP drops in April.
